Blaxcell Street closed following head on crash in Granville

Three people, including two children have been taken to hospital following a crash in Granville on Monday (December 4).

Emergency services were called to Blaxcell Street just before 5.15pm after reports of a crash.

Initial inquires suggest a Honda CRV and a Hyundai Elantra had crashed head on.

The female driver of the Honda was treated at the scene. A six-year-old girl was treated for facial injuries and taken to The Children’s Hospital.

The male driver of the Hyundai and an infant passenger were treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a precaution.

No other details are known at this stage.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area with Blaxcell Street closed between Louie and William Streets with local traffic diversions in place.

It follows an earlier crash on the M4 in Merrylands near the Pitt Street overpass, which forced the closure of two out of the four citybound lanes.
