More than 1000 people attended Smithfield Public School’s Summer Festival on Friday.
Organised by the school’s P&C, the event included student performances, rides, food vans and the popular haunted house. Year 6 pupils also ran games throughout the five-hour fundraiser.
Fairfield City Museum & Gallery and the Rural Fire Service also attended the event. The school’s community liaison officer Jacqueline Ranera-Griffin said the festival demonstrated the community spirit at the school.
Almost $7000 was raised which will go towards providing resources for the students.
The event was organised by P&C committee members Jodie Baker (president), Cindy Dos Santos (vice president), Bernadette Topalian (treasurer) and Karen Waghorn (secretary).
