The countdown is on, not only for Christmas but some exciting changes set to bring new life to our city.

Fairfield City Centre will soon see design excellence landmark signature buildings commence in the near future.

There are 12 urban designed and planned major sites ranging from 2500sqm to 26,000sqm within the Fairfield CBD currently on exhibition.

On a broader scale The Greater Sydney Commission’s recently released draft plan is also available to the public. This big picture approach co-ordinates state and local government long-term metropolitan planning for Greater Sydney. The plans will make Greater Sydney more liveable, productive, sustainable and make the most of future opportunities and challenges.

The commission sees Greater Sydney’s future as a metropolis of three unique but connected cities; a Western Parkland City west of the M7, a Central River City with Greater Parramatta at its heart and an Eastern Harbour City. With the cities well connected by transport links and infrastructure, more people will live within 30 minutes of their jobs and have easier access to schools, hospitals and services.

In September 2017 the West and South West districts were merged to better facilitate planning around the Western Sydney Airport, creating the Western Sydney district presenting substantial opportunities for our City.

On a more festive note with Christmas fast approaching it’s time to save some important dates on your calendar for the lighting of the Christmas Tree on Thursday, December 7 at Epoch Plaza, corner Nelson and Station Streets, Fairfield from 6.30pm- 9.30pm with plenty of excitement for the family.

On Friday, December 8 it’s time to show your generosity to get behind the 14th Annual Starr Partners Fairfield charity trolley drive to support the Uniting Church diner that feeds to needy in our community.

You can participate by donating non-perishable food items, toys, and other items suitable for Christmas gifts which will fill one or more shopping trolleys or cheque donations to “Uniting Church Diner”.

We would also love to see your business represented in the official Trolley Parade which is a fantastic experience. Details: Tom Murphy, 9727 7799 or 0409 601 690.
