GAME CHANGER: The Big Anxiety Festival will explore and re-imagine the state of mental health in the 21st century with a range of events taking place in Parramatta until October 21. Spanning across venues including Riverside Theatres and Parramatta Park, the festival includes state-of-the-art immersive events, international art exhibitions, theatre and performance, contemporary dance, interactive media events and public forums. OPEN DAY: At Wentworthville Community Garden, 73 Fullagar Road, on Saturday, October 14 from 9.30am-2pm. A variety of plants, seedlings, fresh vegetables, herbs, jams, pickles, craft, trash ‘n’ treasure, cakes and curry will be on sale and there will be live music and children’s activities, Devonshire teas and a barbecue. FUN RUN: The Coleman Greig Challenge will be held on Friday, October 20 at Parramatta Park in a bid to raise $175,000 for children with special needs and newborn care. The fun run will be followed by breakfast at Lachlan’s, Old Government House. Options include a 2.5km walk in the park, a 5km run, a 10km run, a B grade cycle or an A grade cycle. Details: https://colemangreigchallenge2017.gofundraise.com.au

STEPPING ON: Program for older residents at Community Wheels Inc, 3E/6 Boundary Road, Northmead. The seven week-course will be held weekly, 10am-noon, from Monday, October 30. It provides participants with information and practical help to maintain their balance and strength so they can avoid falls and remain independent. Cost is $14 which includes transport and morning tea or $5 if you have your own transport. Bookings essential on 8868 1400.
