Grandparents – the irreplaceable and much-loved figure head of a family – this is for you!
Fairfield Council will host their third Grandparents Day event on Sunday, October 29 at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery. The free event is designed to bring multiple family generations together for a fun-family day out.
It’s also perfect opportunity to “recognise and celebrate” everything grandparents do within the family and community, according to Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone.
“The skills, life experience and wisdom of our older residents are invaluable to younger members of the community and for our future,” he said.
“Thanks to the hard work of those who have gone before us, we continue to see improvements to our quality of life and even greater opportunities ahead.
“I encourage the community to attend this year’s event at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery, which will have activities and workshops that have been organised for all to enjoy.”
Some of the activities on the day include Vintage Village tours, a performance by the Older Women’s Network Theatre Group, a visit from Paw Patrol characters, a magic show and craft activities.
