Historic day: The 100th anniversary of the Harris Creek Military Rail Bridge will be commemorated on Friday, October 20 from 10.30am at the Harris Creek Reserve, Heathcote Road, Holsworthy. The rail bridge is the only known remaining example in Australia of a military rail bridge constructed during the First World War by the Commonwealth Government employing internees as labour. Hosted by the Moorebank Heritage Group the ceremony is being held to acknowledge and recognise its significant historical, social and cultural values. All welcome.
