Made from ceramic technology advanced by NASA, a new barbecue will bring visual interest to your backyard as well as a unique cooking system designed to bring out flavours while cooking, baking, grilling, stewing, or smoking.
Partnering with advanced ceramic manufacturing experts and composite materials engineers, the Big Green Egg is constructed from types of ceramics originally developed by NASA for the space program.
The manufacturer said this makes it the highest grade of composite used in any cooker on earth.
Featuring highly insulating properties and superior reflecting heat, the Big Green Egg ceramic creates a impact on the flavour of the ingredients and dishes prepared, irrespective of the cooking method.
Due to its design and the materials used, the Big Green Egg has a constant flow of air which assures an even cook and highly efficient charcoal burn, according to the manufacturers.
A twist on the ‘Kamado’ design - an Asian design clay oven dating back 3,000 years - the Big Green Egg emphasises its OpenFlavourTM, for total consistency in flavour, no matter what you’re grilling.
The manufacturer said that even at temperatures well below zero, you can still regulate the temperature to an accuracy of one degree between 70°C and 350°C.
The egg comes in five sizes, from a cooking area of 855 sq cm to 4336 sq cm. Details: biggreenegg.com.au
