Commuters can look forward to cruising on new ferries to and from Parramatta.
The state government has announced it will invest in four vessels for the Parramatta River route.
“Regular ferry customers will tell you that there is no more relaxing and scenic way to travel along the Parramatta River, which explains the enduring popularity of the service,” Transport Minister Andrew Constance said.
A pleased Parramatta MP Geoff Lee added: “Since 2011, more than 250 additional weekly ferry services have been introduced across the Sydney Ferries network. In June we added more than 30 additional weekly ferry services along the Parramatta River to support growing demand at key times. We will be adding even more services later in the year.”
Experienced ferry builders will be requested to submit an expression of interest for the project.
