A man has been charged after allegedly producing child exploitation material and assaulting a young girl he was babysitting near Parramatta.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad and Parramatta police began an investigation following a tip off about a man sexually assaulting a girl, 3, he was babysitting.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators searched a home at North Parramatta about 7am on Thursday, September 7.
Officers seized phones, computers and electronic storage devices.
A man, 64, was arrested at the home and taken to Parramatta police station, where he was charged with assault with intent to have sexual intercourse – child under 10, four counts of indecent assault, person under 16; and four counts of produce child abuse material.
The man was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court Friday, September 8.
Man urinates on police car
A man has been charged after he was caught urinating on a police car in Rosehill.
Police said officers were patrolling the races when they saw the South Windsor man, 20, publicly urinating on the fully marked police car parked on Saturday, September 9
Officers spoke to the man before he attempted to run away, resulting in a short foot pursuit.
The man was caught by police and security before being issued with a field court attendance notice and released.
Elderly man bullied at home
A Carlingford man, 48, has been arrested after he allegedly bullied and harassed an elderly man.
Police have been told the elderly man, 85, was standing outside his Bettington Road house with his walking frame when he saw the younger man standing near his car, which was parked in the driveway.
It is alleged the younger man started yelling at the older man, prompting him to walk towards nearby shops to get help.
The younger man allegedly followed him for about 100 metres before witnesses helped the older man and police were called.
The man was later arrested by police.
