The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a major reform that has put control over the choice of supplier into the hand of the person with a disability.
While there are many benefits of this scheme, it can also mean that it is hard to know where to start when choosing a provider.
Dr Omer Khan, from OSAN Ability Assist, said people are often confused and overwhelmed by the whole process and don’t know where to turn.
“What we would like to say to them is that help is all around. NDIS is a learning curve for all and we are here to support you to achieve your goals and desired outcomes,” he said.
“When choosing a provider, it’s important to feel comfortable and have confidence in your provider, while also knowing that it is a partnership.
“It’s your life, your choice and you have full control of your NDIS plan.”
Mr Khan said OSAN Ability Assist has evolved through the passion and commitment of himself and Dr Abdul Noor to deliver high quality, flexible supports to people with disabilities in the community.
“The founders of OSAN Ability Assist have been involved in community and charity work for more than 25 years.
“The Operations and Business Development Manager Lisa Walters has more 12 years’ experience in managing and providing disability support services,” he said.
OSAN Ability Assist provides and is registered for many services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, including personal care, community access, support coordination, plan management and allied health/therapy supports.
“We also provide support with mobility equipment and home modifications – we are responsive to your needs, supporting you from pre-planning to implementation and service provision,” Dr Khan said.
Dr Khan said Osan Ability Assist was continuing to grow across Sydney and have plans to expand nationally.
“Our team is dedicated to providing the best quality care with compassion always. We are continuing to grow our team and plan to implement exciting community initiatives in the near future.”
