Retiree wins $10,000 from Scratch-Its bought at Granville Newsagency

One Granville retiree’s day was turned around for the better after he won one of the top prizes of $10,000 on a $1.10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket from Granville Newsagency, using a small divisionional win from the lotto.

“It wasn’t a good day to start off with,” the lucky winner told a NSW Lotteries official.

“But then I realised I had won the last division on the lotto and I used that win to buy myself an Instant Scratch-Its ticket. I was amazed! I was looking for small numbers, as occasionally I get $2, but then it hit me that there were three $10,000 there.  And here we are! It’s turned my day around big time!”

The man plans to use his instant windfall to be debt free and hopefully treat himself to something special.

“I don’t think I’m a lucky person but this is tremendous. It’s a good feeling,” he said.

Granville Newsagency owner Feng Qi was thrilled his outlet had sold another top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“It’s been a few years since we’ve sold the last top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket so it was time for another,’ Mr Qi said.

“It was great! The customer was very happy! We hope they enjoy their prize!”
