WOMEN IN HISTORY: Dr Catherine Bishop will be guest speaker at the next meeting of Parramatta and District Historical Society on Wednesday, August 16 from 7.30pm at Burnside Public School Hall, 1 Masons Drive, North Parramatta. Dr Bishop’s subject will be “Minding her own business: Colonial businesswomen in Sydney”. She researches Australian, New Zealand and international history, with a particular focus on women. DO IT YOURSELF: Roll up your sleeves and learn to have fun with DIY as part of Bunnings Warehouse North Parramatta and Rydalmere’s free adult workshops held every Saturday and Sunday at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm and topics include: Basic DIY Workshop Skills on August 12 and 13 and Storage Solutions on August 19 and 20; and Spring DIY Project on August 26 and 27.
