Fairfield Relay for Life celebrates 10 years

The tenth Fairfield Relay for Life will take a trip around the world and promote one simple message: cancer doesn’t discriminate across cultures.

The Fairfield Relay For Life is on November 4 and 5 at Prairiewood High School and will carry the theme ‘Around the World’.

Cancer Council volunteer and Fairfield Relay For Life spokeswoman Kamal Hadid said many people from non-English speaking backgrounds were still unaware of the basic facts on cancer.

She said Relay For Life was a great way to connect the community with a common cause and urged people to participate.

“It’s about being courageous,” she said.

“You don’t hide from your enemy – you scandalise the enemy. Show you’re the stronger party.”

The Fairfield Relay for Life will hold their launch night on July 26 at St John’s Park Bowling Club.

It will include entertainment and activities celebrating the cultural diversity of the Fairfield region.
