Man charged with stealing five pairs of jeans

About 10.52am on Tuesday, May 16, a 41-year-old Bossley Park man has entered the One Woman store within Stockland, Wetherill Park and removed five pairs of Crossroads jeans from a table and placed them in a back pack before leaving the store.

The man has then entered the Bardot store carrying the stolen items. The staff within Bardot recognised the man as previously stealing from their store and contacted security immediately.

Security has attended and spoken with the man, who has been banned previously for a five year term which was still in force. The man was escorted back to the security office where he has advised security of the stolen items in his bag.

Police have attended and searched the man’s bag, recovering the five pairs of jeans with a combined total of $284.75.

The man has been charged with Shoplifting and is due to appear before Fairfield Local Court on June 19.

Driving While Disqualified

About 12pm on Wednesday, May 17, police have stopped a vehicle for the purposes of a random breath test.

Police have spoken with the driver, a 26-year-old Greenfield Park man and submitted him to a road side breath test, which returned a negative result. Further checks revealed the driver to be disqualified from driving until September 12.

The driver has been charged with driving while disqualified and is due to appear before Fairfield Local Court on June 13.

Man charged with mid-range drink-driving

About 1.08am on Sunday 8th May 2017, police were conducting patrols of St Johns Road when the observed a vehicle travelling without headlights on. Police have stopped the vehicle for the purpose of a random breath test.

Whilst talking with the driver, a 39-year-old Lansdowne man,police immediately smelt a strong odour of intoxicating liquor emanating from the vehicle.

Police subjected the driver to a random breath which returned a road side reading of 0.180, more than three times the legal limit. The man driver was conveyed back to Fairfield Police Station for the purposes of breath analysis, which returned a mid range PCA reading of 0.144.

The driver has been charged with Drive with Mid Range PCA and is due to appear before Fairfield Local Court on June 5.
