Fairfield Council is offering free microchipping for cats and dogs to the first 100 local residents who book as part of two upcoming microchipping days.
The dog microchipping day will be held on June 24 at Council’s Administration Building (86 Avoca Rd, Wakeley). The cat microchipping day will be held on July 22 at Bonnyrigg Community Centre (28 Bonnyrigg Ave, Bonnyrigg).
Fairfield mayor, Frank Carbone said microchipping your pet dog or cat is a legal requirement under the Companion Animals Act.
“It also ensures that any lost or missing pets can be easily identified and reunited with their owners,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Pets are usually an important part of local families and we know how heartbreaking it can be when they go missing. Microchipping can help them to be found when a vet, animal shelter or council scans the chip to identify owner details.”
Bookings are essential.
