Southern Districts Soccer Football Association put smiles on children’s faces at Fairfield Hospital with a special visit on Thursday to hand out football gear to the children’s and maternity wards.

Southern Districts technical director Rod Galic, women’s technical director Catherine Cannuli and association secretary Gino Marra were joined by Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone to hand out  footballs, tracksuits, posters and water bottles to the children.

“Southern Districts is not just a football association as we want to share a message of community engagement and like to help any organisation we can with donations of football equipment,” Southern Districts technical director Rod Galic said.

“Over the past few years we have donated to schools in the Southern Districts catchment area and have sponsored schools’ end of year assemblies with donations of academic and sporting excellence medals.

“The board of SDSFA have also been proactive in helping the association gain youth league and SAP licences to compete.”
