Police investigate robbery in Cabramatta

A young man was allegedly assaulted and robbed after arranging to buy mobile phones from a person on the street.

About 8pm on Thursday, a 22-year-old man arranged to purchase mobile phones from an unknown man along Hill Street, Cabramatta, when he was approached by two men, one armed with an electronic control weapon.

The armed man allegedly assaulted the 22-year-old man stealing cash from his wallet, before driving away in a white Mazda hatchback with green “P-plates”.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first male is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance approximately 165cm to 170cm tall, of slim build, with a beard and moustache, wearing a white base ball cap.

The second male is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 180cm tall, of large build, with a beard and moustache. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
