At only 14, Elisabeth Kidane has the world at her feet.
The Sydney West Gymsports aerobics member has excelled since starting aerobics seven years ago.
In fact, she has won or placed in every division of competition she has competed in.
The Cabramatta resident was recognised for her achievements in the sport by being named the Sports Achiever of the Year at Fairfield Council’s Australia Day awards.
“It was a big shock; I didn’t expect it,” Kidane told the Champion.
The Westfields Sports High School student is coming off another big year in aerobics which was capped off with a fifth place finish at the World Championships earlier in Japan.
Her goal is to return to the World Championships this year – with one slight difference.
“I would like to win a medal,” she said.
“I love the sport. You can just be yourself when you are performing and competing.”
Under the watchful eye of coach Patsy Tatian, Elisabeth trains 13 hours a week at Sydney West Gymsports
