A female police officer was assaulted after an altercation with a man at Cabramatta just before 12.30am on Tuesday, January 10. Police were patrolling Hill Street when they saw a man act suspiciously. They left their car and went after him on foot.
A short time later a second man was seen on Hughes Street. A female leading senior constable tried to detain him but she was pushed and fell and hit her head. Both men ran away.
Police searched the surrounding area but no one was found. The injured officer was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool hospital with a laceration to her face. Cabramatta officers want to speak to two men who may be able to help with their inquiries. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
Two men glassed at highway hotel
Police have appealed for witnesses as they investigate the alleged glassing of two men at Cabramatta. Just before 10pm on Saturday, January 7, emergency services were called to a hotel on the Hume Highway after reports of a brawl.
Cabramatta officers attended. Police were told security removed a man from the hotel before he allegedly returned and began attacking patrons, throwing glasses and bar stools. The crowd dispersed when police and paramedics arrived.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated a man, 22, with a laceration to his head after being glassed. A man, 31, was also treated for multiple lacerations to his head after being glassed and hit with a bar stool.
Both were taken to Liverpool hospital for treatment. Their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
Armed robbery at Moorebank
Police are investigating after an armed robbery in Moorebank about 9.20pm on Saturday, December 31.
Emergency services were called to a restaurant on Stockton Avenue after reports a man had entered the store armed with a firearm.
Police were told he threatened employees and demanded money before firing the weapon once into a wall. He then ran away in an unknown direction.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket and black pants. Liverpool officers attended and established a crime scene.
No one was physically injured during the incident. Police are continuing their inquiries.
