The Sydney Morning Herald apologises to readers who were unable to download the SMH for iPad app following a power outage that affected 4800 homes and businesses in the Sydney suburb of Pyrmont on Sunday.
The outage triggered a chain reaction of events at one of the data centres that serves Herald computer systems and affected both the website and the tablet app edition.
The outage would have also affected anyone who tried to view the app after downloading the updated version from the App Store on Sunday.
