A man has been charged over the death of a woman who took the drug MDMA at a DJ event in Sydney's inner west.
More than three months after the 21-year-old's death, her boyfriend on Wednesday was charged with supplying her the drug.
Police say the woman and her 19-year-old partner went to a DJ event together at the Petersham Inn on the night of June 4.
The man allegedly purchased three to four capsules of MDMA and gave some to his girlfriend.
The next morning the woman became sick and paramedics were called to a home on Addison Road in Marrickville at 8.45am.
By the time emergency services arrived, she was dead.
Following an investigation by Marrickville detectives, the 19-year-old man on Wednesday was charged by way of a court attendance notice with drug supply.
He is due to front Newtown Local Court on October 10.
The case draws similarities to that of Sylvia Choi, a 26-year-old pharmacist who died after taking drugs at Stereosonic music festival last year.
Her high school friend Daniel Dung Huynh, 26, was later convicted of supplying her the ecstasy pill and MDMA capsule.
