A man has been charged following investigations into a serious assault that has left a man in a critical condition in hospital yesterday.
About 6.45pm on Wednesday, September 21, a 25-year-old man was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with three men on West Street, Canley Vale.
Police allege a 45-year-old man was struck in the head causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the ground hitting his head on the concrete.
It’s further alleged two other men suffered minor lacerations to their faces.
The 45-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a critical condition suffering a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, a fractured nasal bone and a laceration to his lip.
The two other men were treated at the scene.
The 25-year-old man attended Cabramatta Police Station today where he was arrested and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm, and common assault (x2).
He was given conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on Monday, October 10.
