Rebels OMCG member charged after loaded pistol located in car at Cabramatta

A Rebels OMCG member has been charged after drugs and a pistol were allegedly seized from his car in Cabramatta yesterday.

About 6.45pm (Wednesday, September 21), Highway Patrol officers from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor stopped a Holden Colorado ute near the corner of the Cumberland Highway and Cabramatta Road, Cabramatta.

Following a search of the ute, police located and seized a semi-automatic pistol, a loaded magazine, and a substance, believed to be ‘ice’, in a hidden compartment.

The vehicle was also seized for forensic examination.

The 25-year-old male driver was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station.

A short time later, investigators from the State Crime Command’s Firearms Squad were granted and executed a search warrant at a home unit on Bold Street Cabramatta.

Officers located and seized steroids and a residue of a substance, believed to be ‘ice’.

The man was subsequently charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess prohibited weapon, possess ammunition, not keep firearm safely, and supply prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday, September 22).
