Police believe a shooting at a take-away food outlet at Mount Pritchard last night was ‘‘not a random attack’’.
Two men, each with firearms, stood on a footpath on Meadows Road at 7pm and fired a number of shots into Pizza Plus.
Police believe the shooting was a targeted attack on the store.
A 26-year-old man, who was standing outside the store, was shot once in the buttocks. Police say he is a part owner of the shop.
Two shots were fired into the store.
The business was open at the time but no one was inside.
As the men shot at the store, a car of five passengers from ages 24 to 27 drove past and was struck twice. None of the occupants were injured.
Cabramatta Superintendent Wayne Murray said it was a ‘‘lucky escape’’ for the innocent occupants.
The two offenders fled the scene in a dark coloured four-wheel-drive Mazda CX-7.
They are described to be of Middle-Eastern appearance, 165 to 180 centimetres and of stocky build.
The 26-year-old admitted himself from Liverpool Hospital at 9.15pm yesterday and then discharged himself soon after.
Superintendent Murray said he was being ‘‘very unco-operative’’ with the investigation.
Neighbouring businesses said the shop opened three weeks ago.
