Very few principals ever have the opportunity to create a school from the ground up. For Elaine Wilson, principal of Wattleview Primary School in the Dandenong Ranges region, the opportunity came in the form of a multi-million-dollar grant from Nick Wakeling MP, the State member for Ferntree Gully. On the site of what was already an existing school, new buildings were created, old buildings  demolished and a sense of community pride took hold.
