WHEN I first read the word "chromotherapy", I'll admit I had to Google the definition.
Chromotherapy is the use of colour to achieve well-being, in the same sort of way people use aromatherapy.
A new shower head, called Aquabeat, from iB Rubinetterie uses chromotherapy to enhance the shower experience.
Director of stockist Paco Jaanson, Ari Zorlu, said iB Rubinetterie wanted to design a product that would increase the heartbeat, thus creating a shower that would excite and energise.
"Aquabeat provides a 65,000 combination light program, with a waterfall and spray shower, aimed to change the perception of a simple act such as showering, into a deeper and emotional daily ritual," he said.
"Chromotherapy is often described as alternative medicine, and Aquabeat is a tool for one's well-being, rather than the ultimate solution.
"Chromotherapy is an added value to the user's inner predisposition to pamper or energise themselves."
Mr Zorlu said Aquabeat was unique, as it didn't claim to be the centre of the bathroom landscape.
