AT just 14 years of age, Ariarne Titmus is on track to compete in the 2020 Olympics.
Last year, Ariarne won gold in the 13-and-under 200-metre freestyle at the Australian Age Swimming Championships, and that is just one of her achievements.
"One of my highlights was being on the Australian Kaizen Squad, which is the target squad for the Tokyo Olympics," Ariarne said.
"I have nationals in four weeks so at the moment I'm swimming 10 two-hour sessions a week with five in strength training.
"Nationals is the main goal so hopefully I'll win a few gold medals there and try and get selected for the world junior team.
"There's still a bit of work to do, I've got to lower my times a bit to get selected but I feel pretty confident that I can swim well."
Last year, Ariarne was the female individual overall winner at The Examiner's Junior Sports Awards and said it was a great opportunity to get herself recognised.
"It was pretty exciting when I won ... I was really happy with the win," Ariarne said.
"It's a good opportunity to get recognised for the achievements you've got and it's a good way to make new friends and learn about other people and their achievements in different sports."
