Police are searching for the person who shot a cat with two arrows in Sydney's south-west on Saturday morning.
The brown and white cat was found about 11am on Saturday under a car on a Myrtle Road in Bankstown.
It had two arrows sticking out from its body.
The RSPCA emergency ambulance took the cat to the RSPCA headquarters in Yagoona for treatment but it died during surgery.
It is not known who shot the cat and police are appealing for witnesses. They are also searching for the cat's owners.
It was the latest in a string of similar incidents in Sydney's west and south-west over the past few months.
In July an elderly property owner found one of his goats had been shot through the shoulder with an arrow in a rural part of Wetherill Park.
Two other goats died earlier this year after being shot with arrows in Blacktown and a kangaroo, shot near St Marys, was spotted with an arrow lodged in its body.
