THE secret to be a good tennis player is hard work and dedication, says new Marconi Tennis Centre coach Antonio Romano.

Romano, who arrived in Australia two weeks ago from Italy, is working with Cub Marconi's up-and-coming stars including Bossley Park's Anne-Marie Medcalf.

Romano is a former professional tennis player and began coaching in 1988.

Romano is putting together is a ladies' mid-morning program for mothers who have time after they drop the kids to school to enjoy a great physical work-out getting to know the basics of tennis.

Marconi Tennis Centre's Stewart Whicker said: "Antonio has worked with many Italian top players and looks forward to transferring his many years' experience to Club Marconi's players."
