A man has died after he was stabbed in the neck at Greenfield Park yesterday afternoon.
Just before 3pm, police were called to Mistral Street, following reports of a stabbing.
While no one was found injured, a short time later, a 21-year-old man turned up to Fairfield Hospital with a stab wound to his neck.
He underwent emergency surgery but died about 4.45pm.
Police from Fairfield Local Area Command were patrolling Jasnar Street, Greenfield Park when they arrested two men.
The men, aged 24 and 39, were taken to Fairfield Police Station and later released pending further inquiries.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death continue.
