Crews from the SES Sydney Western Region have received 130 call-out requests after yesterday's heavy storms.
The region covers the Penrith, Blacktown, Hills and Parramatta local government areas, where crews remain busy.
In Parramattan LGA, a crew has just left Ryde Street, Epping, where a tree came down on a power line about 11am today.
‘‘Integral is now dealing with the problem,’’ the region’s spokeswoman said.
The SES has completed nine jobs in the Parramatta LGA and are yet to complete seven.
‘‘Among the outstanding jobs, we have a tree on a shed at Rydalmere and a sheet of metal has torn away from a neighbour’s roof at Merrylands,’’ the region’s spokeswoman said.
In the Penrith area, crews have completed 10 jobs since yesterday, with four outstanding jobs on their books.
‘‘The completed jobs were all for leaking roofs, but there are still two trees down in Castlereagh and South Penrith,’’ the region’s spokeswoman said.
‘‘The one in Castlereagh has fallen on a fence, and the other is threatening to fall.’’
In Blacktown, crews have completed seven jobs since yesterday, and have 11 to get to.
‘‘Three involved roof damage, two had leaky roofs and one was for a tree threatening in a yard,’’ the region’s spokeswoman said.
‘‘Of the 11 outstanding [jobs], there is a tree down on a cubby house in Quakers Hill.’’
The Hills SES still has three teams out in the field.
Storm-affected areas have included Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Castle Hill, Carlingford and Glenhaven.
Incidents have ranged from trees down on houses at Dan Crescent, Castle Hill; Showground Road, Castle Hill; and Hyde Avenue, Glenhaven; to water entering properties, and leaky roofs.
A team has just left Arnold Avenue, Kellyville.
‘‘Initially there were concerns around rising flood waters near the new developments,’’ Evelyn Lester, the Hills SES Unit’s controller, said.
‘‘The creek water level was rising and we’ve got properties backing on to it.
‘‘If there was flooding we’d be putting in sandbags but the water has gone back down.
‘‘I have 14 jobs on my system at the moment.
‘‘The first [call] came through at 9am this morning.’’
Ms Lester said the causeway at McClymonts Road, Maraylya has been closed since yesterday and The Hills Council is continuing to monitor the water levels at the causeways on Cattai Ridge Road at Maraylya/Hillside and Blue Gum Road in Annangrove.
‘‘We want residents to realise we are out and that we’ll get to them just as soon as we can,’’ Ms Lester said.
