Pair charged with Harris Park taxi robbery

Police from Rosehill Local Area Command have charged a man and a woman following investigations into the robbery of a taxi driver in Harris Park at the weekend.

About 7.10pm on Sunday 10 August, 2014, a man and woman requested a cab from a club in West Pennant Hills.

The taxi arrived and collected the two who asked to be taken to Harris Park. When at the intersection Good Street and Prospect Street police will allege the two occupants got out of the taxi and started to walk away.

The driver got out and requested payment.

It’s alleged an argument ensured resulting in the driver being assaulted by the man, and the woman stealing an amount of cash and an i-pad from the taxi before running from the area.

The matter was reported and an investigation was commenced by police from Rosehill which resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old man, and a 31-year-old woman.

They were arrested at a residential address in Harris Park and taken to Rosehill Police Station where they were charged with robbery in company.

They were given conditional bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on September 3, 2014.
