Police search for missing Smithfield man Ronald Page

Fairfield police are searching for a man who went missing from his Smithfield home yesterday.

Ronald Page, 85, was last seen by a relative shortly after 4pm on Sunday August, 10.

Police said Mr Page was driving along the Hume Highway, heading to Victoria, when his caravan got a mechanical fault.

Mr Page stopped on the highway near Wilton and detached the caravan, leaving it on the side of the road.

His relative stayed with the van while Mr Page returned home to get spare parts.

When Mr Page did not return emergency services were contacted.Police said there had been no sign of him or the vehicle since, and relatives hold serious concerns for his welfare.

Mr Page was unable to communicate verbally and was described to be of Caucasian appearance, with medium build and about 165-175cm tall.

He was travelling in a blue, 1990 Subaru, bearing NSW registration of RMN 558.
