Fairfield Police are appealing for public help to locate 35-year-old Soukanh Sawanh, who has been missing from the Fairfield area since May 2010.

About 11pm on the May 2, 2010, the then 31 year-old Soukanh Sawanh was last seen at Edensor Park.

He was reported missing to police by family members.

Soukanh Sawanh is described as being of Asian appearance, 168 centimetres tall, medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

His disappearance is being investigated by Fairfield Local Area Command detectives.

This year's National Missing Persons Week, August 3-9 campaign raises awareness about why people go missing and the effects on their friends and family.

This year, the National Missing Persons Co-ordination Centre has teamed up with Alzheimer's Australia to raise awareness of the links between dementia and missing people.
