Recipes submitted by residents taking part in the Multicultural Community Kitchen at Bonnyrigg Youth Centre have now been turned into a recipe book. Bonnyrigg Multicultural Community Kitchen features delicious recipes from around the world. Newleaf Communities general manager Peter Williamson said the book offered community members some tantalising dishes to try out on their families. Mounties Group will announce the recipients of this year's community grants tomorrow night. The group will contribute more than $515,000 to community groups in a bid to make the area a more welcoming place for residents. Some of the grants will be given to the Ted Noffs Foundation, Learning Links, Fairvale High School and the NSW Vietnamese Elderly Friendship Association. A group of 40 year 5 students from Canley Vale Public School visited Parliament House last week and listened to a motivational speech from Cabramatta MP Nick Lalich. Mr Lalich spoke about the importance of accepting opportunities, as well as encouraging the students to "give things a go" even if they were reluctant to. Mr Lalich also spoke about his personal experiences, as well as his role in the community before the students asked him questions.
