Police are continuing investigations after a man was stabbed in his home at Prairiewood on Saturday morning.
About 8.25am, an 18 year-old man answered a knock at the front door of his home on Greenfield Road.
Police were told the man, armed with a knife, forced his way into the house.
Another resident, a 52 year-old man, intervened and was stabbed in the arm, before the offender fled from the house in a white sedan.
Police were contacted and Fairfield Local Area Command attended commencing an investigation.
The older man was taken to Liverpool hospital for treatment to the wound.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.
Investigators would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
He is described as being Pacific Islander/Maori in appearance, 183 centimetres tall and was wearing a black shirt.
