Search warrant executed at Cabramatta home

Three people have been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in Liverpool last month.

About 9.20pm on June 21, a 16-year-old girl was in the forecourt of a library on George Street when she was approached by a group of six men.

Police were told the girl conversed briefly with the group before she was invited to meet a mutual friend.

She walked with the group to a nearby car park, where it is alleged two of the men sexually assaulted her in a stairwell.

The girl’s mobile phone was also allegedly stolen from her handbag during the assault.

The group then left the scene and the girl returned to the library where she was assisted and police were called.

Detectives from Liverpool Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

As a result of their inquiries, officers executed three search warrants at homes in Warwick Farm, Cabramatta and Regents Park yesterday.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 20-year-old man were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where the man was charged with robbery in company and two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company.

The teens were each charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and robbery in company.

The trio will front court today, with the man appearing before Liverpool Local Court and the boys appearing before a Children’s Court.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
