Fatal crash

POLICE want to speak to witnesses to a fatal crash on Railway Parade in Canley Vale about 12.45am on Sunday. Police said a two-door car with five men left the road near Cathcart Street and crashed into a tree. One of the men, believed to be in his 20s, died at the scene. The four other men were taken to Liverpool Hospital. Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Charges after pursuit

A man will appear in Liverpool Local Court next Wednesday following a pursuit with Cabramatta police officers last Friday. About 1.50am, police were speaking to the 46-year-old man in the car park of a business on the Hume Highway, Lansvale before he allegedly sped off. Police engaged in a pursuit with the man around Chadderton and Longfield streets. Police said that after five minutes, the man returned to the car park where police first spoke to him, and they stopped the car before searching it. The man was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, goods in custody, a police pursuit and driving an unregistered and uninsured car.

High-range case

A Fairfield woman has had her licence suspended after she allegedly recorded a positive breath test in Cabramatta last Thursday. About 5.45pm, the 57-year-old woman collided with a parked car on Lovoni Street. Police said a road breath test came back positive. A subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.171. She was charged with high-range drink driving and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on August 7.
