Goat shot with arrow in Wetherill Park

Police in Sydney’s west have commenced inquiries after a goat was shot with an arrow at Wetherill Park this week.

About 6.30am yesterday, a 76-year-old man returned to a rural property on Davis Road and discovered one of his goats injured.

The female goat had been shot with an arrow through the shoulder.

Police were alerted and officers from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and commenced inquiries.

The injured goat was taken to the RSPCA shelter in Yagoona for treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area at the time to come forward.

It’s believed the incident occurred during the night.

NSW Police and the RSPCA are investigating other similar incidents that have occurred in Sydney’s west in recent days and are urging anyone with information to contact investigators.
