HORSLEY Park resident Dom Trimboli has proven himself to be the ultimate football fan.

The 22-year-old was selected as the winner of McDonald's Ultimate FIFA World Cup Fan competition and is bound for Brazil to watch the World Cup final.

Mr Trimboli's one-minute video submission was judged a "stand-out winner" from entries across the country and detailed his love of football which he started playing at 5.

"I still can't believe I won!" he said.

"It's pretty crazy to think I'll be at the World Cup final.

"I had to send a video of how I embodied the spirit of the World Cup and I took a comedic approach by showing how my normal day revolves around football."

Trimboli, who plays for Parramatta FC in the Premier League Men's two competition, is one of 21 other super fans from around the world who have been handed tickets to the World Cup final.

Trimboli and best friend Mikky Baroni, of Bossley Park, will head to Brazil on July 9.

"Hopefully, it'll be a Brazil and Argentina final. It'll be good to see two South American teams in their heartland.

"I've watched every game of the World Cup so far so it will be great to see the final live and we will be cheering at the top of our lungs."
