Goannas claim victory against UNSW

After returning to the winners circle last week, the Goannas headed out to Village Green on Sunday looking to make it back to back wins and cement their spot in the top 5.

The first quarter of the match was an even affair as neither team could gain the upper hand, and at quarter time the Goannas held a slim 2 point lead.

The second quarter saw the Goannas come out firing, dominating possession and taking control of the game.

5 goals to none saw the Goannas blow the margin out to 33 points at half time and from there only one result was likely.

The third quarter was a much tighter contest, as the Dogs fought to deny the Goannas a chance to break away.

The lead was 32 points at the start of the last quarter and the Goannas were determined to put the game to rest early.

The boys dominated the play and peppered the goals but were not able to take full advantage of their dominance, but in the end still came away a 37 point win.

The Goannas' next game is against Pennant Hills on Saturday June 28 at Mike Kenny Oval (Shepherds Drive, Cherrybrook) at 12.30 pm.
