THREE years ago, Bonnyrigg's Steven Parrish hit rock bottom.
Weighing 374 kilos, he was bedridden for 2½ years, could no longer fit in his car and was contemplating suicide.
But now, Mr Parrish, 45, is feeling on top of the world.
The father of two has lost a whopping 205 kilos, down to 169 kilos.
"I feel excellent," he said. "It's been a tough journey but I'm nearly at my goal weight of 100 kilograms."
Since his weight-loss journey began, Mr Parrish has been attending a clinic run by endocrinologist Nic Kormas three times a week at Camden Hospital.
He also attends Anytime Fitness Wetherill Park twice a week.
"I've entered myself in the personal success category of the My Anytime 2014 Challenge," he said.
"I'm now in the running to win up to $10,000 worth of prizes."
Mr Parrish has a busy schedule but he also takes part in fund-raising events every fortnight in a bid to raise money to build a gym at the Camden Hospital clinic.
"We're trying to build an after-care gym to so we have somewhere to go after we finish up at the clinic. I've only got a year to go so, hopefully, we can raise enough funds by then."
Mr Parrish is a founding member of the Obesity Support Council set up by clinic patients. They have already raised $3000.
