THE launch of a garden mosaic was something to sing about at Canley Heights Public School on Monday.

Built by parents and members of the school community, the mosaic was designed to represent and celebrate the school values.

It also notes the diversity of cultures within the school.

During Monday's unveiling ceremony, a new school song was performed.

It was written as part of the artistic project The Song Room, a non-profit group.

"Parents and community members can take pride in knowing they have contributed to the beautification of the school as well as learning [mosaic skills] from professional artist Abbas Makrab," said The Song Room's Jesica Varela-Perez.

The Song Room provides free, tailored, long-term music and arts-based programs for children in disadvantaged communities.
