Man charged over Merrylands shooting

On Tuesday police charged a man with firing shots at three other men in Merrylands last month.

On May 22, two groups of men were fighting at Granville Park in Montrose Avenue, Merrylands.

A man then allegedly fired three shots from a handgun.

No one was hit by the round and the groups fled from the park.

Rosehill detectives established Strike Force Clung to investigate the incident.

As a result, police arrested a 19-year-old man in Parklea on Tuesday.

He was charged with using a firearm to cause grievous bodily harm and appears in  Parramatta Local Court on June 26.
