A man was assaulted by a group of man posing as tradespeople in Canley Heights yesterday.
Just before 1.30pm, the occupant of a housee on Duke Street confronted a group of men who were posing as tradespeople.
The group had gained access to the roof and were in the process of removing tiles when the resident confronted them.
Police have been told the group then forced the man inside the home before assaulting him.
They fled with a number of items and police were alerted.
The man was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Cabramatta police established a crime scene and conducted a canvass of the area with assistance from the Dog Unit.
An investigation is underway and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
