FAIRFIELD'S Nicholas Marsic will be among 48 TAFE students receiving a student achievement award tonight.

Mr Marsic, who was chosen from more than 150 nominations, completed a Certificate III in Vehicle Autobody at TAFE South Western Sydney Institute's Campbelltown College as part of his apprenticeship in 2013.

He said winning an award for achievement and excellence in vocational education at TAFE NSW had given him confidence to fulfil his ambition of opening up his own business in the near future.

"TAFE SWSi gave me the underpinning skills, experience and confidence I needed to excel in my apprentice-ship," he said.

"Now, with this win under my belt, I know I can take the next big step from tradesman to businessman."

TAFE SWSi Teacher Carl Tinsley said Mr Marsic had a strong future ahead of him.

"Nicholas was a great student; he is an excellent tradesman and he will be a fantastic businessman," he said.

"I'm very proud of him."

TAFE SWSi's annual achievement awards will be held tonight at The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club, from 6:30pm.
