WESTFIELDS sports director of rugby Alex Larkin wants to produce the next Olympian.

But he needs some help from the Fairfield community.

In 2015, Westfields Sports High will welcome its first intake of Rugby Sevens students — the first dedicated program for young female rugby athletes.

"We have 12 to 15 spots and we are calling on girls with not only a rugby or rugby league background but anyone with athletic ability to have a go," Larkin said.

"We are looking ahead to the 2020 Olympics and if we can get the girls introduced early the Olympics are definitely a realistic goal."

Rugby Sevens is part of the Olympic program in Rio in 2016.
