Police appeal for information over act of indecency in Canley Heights

Police are appealing for public help after a man allegedly committed an act of indecency in Canley Heights earlier this week.

About 4.15pm on Tuesday, a 16-year-old girl was walking west along Canley Vale Road when a light blue-coloured sedan pulled up beside her.

The male driver leaned over and opened the passenger door before allegedly committing an act of indecency.

Police have been told the man grabbed the girl's hand before she fled the location and returned home a short time later.

The girl informed a teacher at her school yesterday and officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command launched an investigation.

Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist in their investigation.

The man is described as being Asian in appearance, about 25 to 30 years of age.

He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap, black sunglasses and a dark-coloured shirt.

Anyone who knows the man’s identity or has any information that could assist detectives is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
