Drugs and knuckledusters seized Granville

A man will face court next month after he was allegedly found in possession of knuckledusters and a prohibited drug.

About 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 June 2013), police from the Police Transport Command stopped a 20-year-old man, who was smoking while walking down to the platform at Granville Railway Station.

It will be alleged the man was unable to produce a valid rail ticket when asked to do so.

Police spoke with the man further, and it will be alleged he was in possession of a quantity of a prohibited drug, believed to be cannabis.

Officers searched the man and seized a pair of knuckledusters.

The 20-year-old was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station. He was charged with possess prohibited weapon, possess Prohibited Drug and transport offences.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court on 6 July 2014.
