ABOUT 130 workers at Custom Coaches, Villawood, will lose their jobs. They were told last week the company will be closing its facility. Australian Manufacturing Workers Union NSW state secretary Tim Ayres said the union had been warning the state government for months that the jobs of workers at the facility were in a perilous position if Transport Minister Gladys Berejikilian did not offer bus building contracts to NSW suppliers. Mr Ayres slammed the state government and said the job losses could have been avoided if the state government was "willing to get off their hands and fight for local jobs".

The event will take place on June 9 from 11am. It will include rides for kids, entertainment, several charity sporting games and music. Entry is $10. Details: 9823 5224.
